Lyon County didn’t have a lot of travel issues after heavy rainfall late last week, and now most of those have vanished.
The Highway Department has announced the roads closed Friday due to runoff — Road J between 140 and 150, Road 150 from J to Kansas Highway 99 and from N to P, and D from 170 to 180 — have all reopened.
One road announced as closed this past weekend, E between 10 and 20, remains closed.
On Monday night, the Highway Department announced Road 290 was closed between M and N after a hole developed in the roadway. On Tuesday morning, the Highway Department announced the closure of Road 150 between E and F. Neither of the closures announced Monday night or Tuesday morning are flood-related.

Along with the roads closed due to flood damage as announced last week and over the weekend, the Lyon County Highway Department has a new road closure.
Road 290 is now closed between Roads M and N. The announcement was made Monday night after a hole developed in the middle of the road near a reinforced concrete box culvert.
Assistant County Engineer Jim Brull says this is not related to the 1-4 inches of rain that fell across Lyon County on Thursday and Friday, but a repair time and schedule is pending.
