The Emporia State football team has moved up a spot to No. 8 in this week’s AFCA Division II Football Coaches Poll. The Hornets moved to 6-0 with a 35-21 win at Missouri Southern last week. Ferris State remains atop the poll with every first-place vote and the top five stayed the same with Harding, Kutztown, CSU Pueblo, and Minnesota State-Mankato all staying unbeaten or idle last week. Grand Valley State dropped out of the top ten after their loss to previous ESU opponent Michigan Tech who is up to No. 14. Northwest Missouri is the only other MIAA team ranked at No. 12. The team they knocked out of the poll, Central Missouri, is receiving votes. More Hornet coverage is coming up on Hornet Talk Monday night at 6:00 p.m. on Mix 104.9.
