Costs related to the county’s new 911 center will be one of the many items to come before Lyon County Commissioners when they convene for their weekly action meeting Thursday morning.
Commissioners will be presented with two items for consideration from Lyon County Controller Dan Williams. The first will be a proposal from Driggs Design Group for engineering services for the 911 center totaling $17,625.
The second will be a contract amendment for construction observation and site visits at the 911 center from Ben Moore Studio for $14,000. Both items, if approved, will be paid for out of the project’s bond and interest fund.
Separately, commissioners will receive information from County Engineer Wayne Scritchfield from Kim Meyers, who is seeking to close the 700 block of Main Street in Americus from 1 pm to 5 pm for the Americus Trunk or Treat event Sunday, October 25th. Scritchfied will also seek approval of a contract between Lyon County, Kirkham Michael and the Kansas Department of Transportation for engineering services for High Risk Rural Roads.
Facilities Director Robbie Weiss and Lyon County Area Transportation Director Shane Brunner will also have requests before commissioners, with Weiss seeking approval of a nearly $37,000 quote from MEI for preventative maintenance for 2027-28.
Brunner will seek approval for the lease agreement for parking with Raise Your Paws. Commissioners will also consider an animal at large resolution.
The meeting will begin at 9 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
