Advanced voting for the 2026 general election is now shifting locally from off-site to in-office.
In-office voting inside of the Lyon County Clerk’s office begins Monday and will follow a strong start to the advance process with a total of 1,210 voters casting their ballots at the Lyon County Fairgrounds Anderson Building Wednesday through Saturday. This represents 5 percent of the county’s total registered voters.
As of Friday, more than 600 mail ballots have been sent out. Residents wanting to vote by mail can still request a ballot through Oct. 27. There is currently a 3-day grace period for those ballots to return to election offices after Nov. 3, but several cases are still working through court reviews, so voters are urged to get their ballots in no later than Election Day to avoid any issues.
Lyon County Election Officer Amie Jones will join KVOE’s primetime Newsmaker 3 at 8:40 am Monday to discuss advance voting and additional election details.
