You can add another record to the 2026 calendar for the Street Cats Club of Emporia following the latest iteration of the Black Cat Ball Saturday evening.
The 4th annual event managed to raise just over $43,000 between the VIP experience, main event and live and silent auctions inside the Emporia Granada Theatre. Street Cats Club founder Victoria Partridge says it is the largest total to date for the event and one she says will go a long way in helping the organization address a lot of present and future needs.
She adds that the proceeds weren’t the only record number for the evening.
As mentioned previously, this has been a record-setting year for the organization, which just recently surpassed its goal of providing spay and neuter services to 1,000 cats for the calendar year, more than double the total from the prior year. Partridge tells KVOE News she believes these records could be a byproduct of the heightened awareness the group has received for its work in recent months, both locally and across the nation.
In addition to these records, Partridge says 2026 has also been a year of new beginnings, explaining how the club has expanded not only awareness of its work, but also the programs it provides, including its travel trap neuter return program, which is the first of its kind in the state of Kansas.
The Black Cat Ball follows the organization’s other significant fundraiser, LolaPalooza, which took place in July and precedes the 13th annual Match Day coming up in November, which the club will once again be a beneficiary of, alongside an additional 30-plus local organizations.
