The Emporia High volleyball team learned its postseason path on Monday, securing the No. 9 seed in the Class 5A West standings after wrapping up a strong 20–15 regular season.
The Lady Spartans will travel to Great Bend on Saturday to compete for a spot in the Class 5A state tournament. Emporia opens sub-state action against the No. 8 seed Hays Indians.
A victory in the opening round would advance the Black and Red to the championship match against either top-seeded Great Bend or No. 16 seed Arkansas City.
Action begins at 2 p.m. with EHS playing in the second match of the afternoon.
