Emporia State University’s Special Collections and Archives hosted the “Across Town, Across America: Emporia on the National Stage” exhibit in the William Allen White Library on Tuesday, Oct. 20, as part of ESU’s homecoming festivities.
The department’s first-ever event to land on the homecoming schedule, exhibit organizer and library public services supervisor Rebekah Curry said the display perfectly encapsulates the week’s theme of celebrating where you come from.
From antique photographs to historic artifacts, Curry said there’s a lot for folks to browse in the exhibit, which will remain open for the rest of the year.
As someone who’s been in the department for nearly 10 years, Curry said the work she and her team do at ESU’s Special Collections and Archives is about more than just hosting exhibits– it’s about making history accessible to anyone interested in learning.
Catch “Across Town, Across America: Emporia on the National Stage,” and the team at Emporia State University’s Special Collections and Archives office from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday in the William Allen White Library, Room 119.
