Lyon County Commissioners will be taking another two weeks, at least, before approving a new policy related to animals at large.
During their regular action meeting Thursday, commissioners chose to table an updated policy for that matter following a round of discussions with both county staff and residents. This is the second tabling of the matter after commissioners took the same course last week, both times stating a need for additional information before approval.
In other business, commissioners approved the abatement of taxes for a parcel of land located at Road 330 that houses a publicly assessed utility owned by Broadwing Communications. The reason for the abatement is due to the parcel being incorrectly classified back in 2021, leading to the reporting of delinquent taxes that it does not owe due to the classification error.
Separate requests from Lyon County Area Transportation Director Shane Brunner to approve the riders information guide and personal manual for LCAT both gained approval. One executive session for third-party confidential data also took place.
Commissioners will reconvene for their regular action meeting next Thursday at 9 am inside the Lyon County Courthouse Commission Chambers.
