Three individuals were hospitalized following a three-vehicle crash in Coffey County Saturday.
The accident, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol, occurred at approximately 11:15 am at mile marker 105 on US Highway 50 at 20th Road. KHP says a 1958 Corvette, driven by 61-year-old Carlos Garcia of Burlington, was traveling southbound on U75 when he lost control and spun across the center line, striking a northbound school bus transporting 12 students and three adults on the front driver’s side.
The Corvette then continued and struck a northbound 2025 Crown Signia driven by 61-year-old Kimberly Petrulis of Neodesha. Garcia was taken to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, while Petrulis and a passenger, 65-year-old Jon Petrulis, were taken to Coffey County Medical Center, all with potentially serious injuries.
None of the passengers in the school bus were injured in the accident.
