Traffic was disrupted for a time in west Emporia early Wednesday afternoon as authorities had to rangle a group of cattle.
Initial indications are the cattle broke loose from the Emporia Sale Barn, however, that has not been confirmed. Authorities asked residents to avoid the area between 15th and Industrial Road as well as areas nearby as they had to rope the cattle.
As of 1:45 pm, all but one of the cattle have been accounted for. Authorities say residents should be vigilant in the area and if they do see a cow out to not approach it.
