A portion of Merchant Street will be closed for up to two days for equipment removal from Broadview Towers.
The tower will have telecommunications equipment removed by a crane starting Wednesday, leading to the closure at the intersection of Sixth Avenue and Merchant Street to approximately 100 feet to the north. Sixth Avenue itself will remain open to traffic; however, there will be no street parking allowed with the closure.
West-side businesses between 600 and 620 Merchant will remain accessible with a flagger in place to help direct traffic. The west-side sidewalk, however, will be closed while the east side remains open.
The project is estimated to take two days to complete, weather permitting. Drivers in the area are asked to use caution and follow all flagger directions through the project’s duration.
