Emporia City Commissioners will have a study-heavy meeting slate when they convene Wednesday.
Ahead of their study meeting, commissioners will have one action agenda item to consider, that being a potential bid award of more than $55,300 to Bruce Davis Construction for improvements to the David Traylor Zoo’s Bison Exhibit. Following this, commissioners will move to their regular study session with six items on the agenda, including a presentation from the Reclaiming Giants Fund, which is working to develop funding to bring world-renowned artist Thomas Dambo to the community.
Commissioners will also take a look at a solid waste utility assessment and revenue recovery strategy presented by Burns and McDonnell.
Other study items will include an agreement with Prairie Paws Animal Shelter, discussion of city boards, review of building permit fees and a review of code revisions for electric bicycles. The meeting slate will begin at 11 am inside the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium before moving to the Evora Wheeler Conference Room for the study meeting.
