A GoFundMe campaign has been started for the Emporia woman injured in a vehicle-versus-pedestrian accident that occurred in downtown Emporia last month.
The campaign, titled Bucks for Bex, is to assist with medical bills and costs for Becky Mishler, a popular member of the Mulready’s pub bartending staff and former owner of the Vault Meats and Cheeses, who was injured in the accident at 8th and Merchant on October 19th.
According to Emporia Police, the accident occurred just after 7 pm as Mishler was crossing the street at 8th Avenue while an SUV driven by 23-year-old Terri Reel of Emporia was traveling northbound on Merchant.
EPD says Reel took their eyes off the road momentarily, leading to the impact with Mishler, who was taken to the hospital with reported injuries to the left half of her body.
The GoFundMe, as of Thursday evening, was at just over $4,700 of its $9,000 goal. Mulready’s owner Meg Worthing has told KVOE News that other fundraisers to assist Mishler in her recovery are currently in the works.
