Once again, the Emporia Christian School made sure the community was well-fueled for the day ahead with a delicious breakfast Saturday morning.
The school hosted its annual fundraising pancake breakfast inside the Lyon County Fairgrounds Anderson building, featuring a menu of freshly made pancakes, sausage and drinks. In addition to the food, the event also featured a silent auction with an abundance of items being donated from the local community.
ECS PTO member and Teacher Marcy Shirk says the school is always grateful for the turnout, noting every dollar spent at the breakfast goes right back to supporting their students and faculty.
In addition to the hundreds of residents who showed up for Saturday’s breakfast, the school’s largest annual fundraiser, Shirk says they have several other community members who generously give to help cover a range of needs throughout the year.
Because of their generous community members who help provide funds for other needs, Shirk says all dollars raised through Saturday’s feed are able to go directly back into the school’s facilities and programming to keep them on par with state funded schools.
Fundraising totals from Saturday’s breakfast are currently pending.
