The Emporia-Lyon County Metropolitan Area Planning Commission and Board of Zoning Appeals will meet Tuesday night with several items on the agenda.
Foremost on the list is a request for a minor plat to facilitate a travel plaza near US Highway 50 and Graphic Arts Road. Red Brick Investments has requested the plat as part of the process to bring a better than 30-acre development to that area near the roundabout connecting US Highway 50 to Interstate 35 and the Kansas Turnpike. Developers have said restaurants, hotels, an RV Park and strip mall will be part of the project.
Separately, board members will field annexation requests for 1501 East Logan, 1503 East Logan, 1201 South Weaver and 3601 West Sixth — which also involves revoking a conditional use permit for the one-time Dynamic Discs warehouse facility.
The meeting is at 6 pm at the Municipal Court Room.
