Emporia Police investigated reports of an alleged explosion Saturday night.
Authorities fielded several calls from east Emporia reporting either a loud noise or a combination of bright light followed by smoke around 8:30 pm. Emporia Police and Emporia Fire searched an area between Sixth to Ninth and East to Exchange for about 30 minutes, turning up no signs of any explosion or related damage.
