Emporia State University will officially start interviewing finalists for the provost position Monday.
Dr. Angappa Gunasekaran interviews Monday. Gunasekaran has been the dean of the School of Business and Public Administration at California State-Bakersfield since 2017. He has also served at UMass Dartmouth in several capacities and he has worked at institutions in England, Australia, Finland, India and Canada.
Gunasekaran earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in industrial engineering from the University of Madras in India.
Gunasekaran meet with President Allison Garrett, university vice presidents, Faculty Senate executive board and the Provost Council before touring Emporia. He will also be part of an online webinar where he will discuss his plans for the position and take questions from the campus and community. Additional candidates will interview Tuesday, March 25 and March 26.
