The Emporia Municipal Airport is getting federal money to help offset COVID-19 expenses.
Senator Jerry Moran announced $13,000 for the airport as part of the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act. Moran and Public Works Director Dean Grant both say the grant can cover a range of costs.
Over 20 Kansas airports are splitting about $8.9 million in federal funds with this announcement.
