Two people were hurt in a crash on Interstate 35 near Melvern on Monday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol says a southbound car driven by 49-year-old Cory Newell of Waterloo, Iowa, went off the highway shortly before 7:45 am. The car hit a guard rail and stopped in the center median.
Newell suffered suspected minor injuries and was taken to Overland Park Regional for treatment. A passenger, 49-year-old Gail Jenson of Wichita, went to Overland Park Regional for treatment of suspected serious injuries. Neither were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash.
