Residents in and around Olpe can get their yards egged all for a great cause this Easter.
Olpe Downhome is holding a special “Egg My Yard” fundraiser where, for a small fee, volunteers will go out and plant Easter Eggs in resident’s front yards on Easter Eve. Vince Kinsey of Olpe Downhome says all proceeds will go towards an exciting addition to the Olpe community.
Kinsey says they are willing to do some traveling for the fundraising effort outside of Olpe. He says they will plant eggs within a 15-mile radius in neighboring communities including Emporia, Hartford, Neosho Rapids and Madison.
If you would like to get egged this Easter you can register by emailing Olpedownhome@gmail.com, visiting the Olpe Downhome Days Facebook page or by calling 620-475-3780 or 620-475-3398.
The cost is $20 for 25 eggs with no limit on how many bunches you may purchase. Registration forms need to be submitted before Mar. 24.
The fundraiser comes as preparations are ongoing for the annual Olpe Down Home Days fundraiser. Kinsey says things are “still up in the air” at this time, however, the celebration traditionally takes place on the second weekend in July.
