The Emporia State tennis teams defeated Ottawa in duels Sunday.
The Lady Hornets won their duel 6-1. They won the doubles point and 5 of the 6 singles matches. Karen Santiago Sanchez, a native of Mexico, won at number 1 singles and number 2 doubles.
The Emporia State men won 4-3. The Hornets won 4 of the 6 singles matches. Harrison Brown, a native of London, England, won at number 6 singles and number 2 doubles.
Emporia State tennis Coach Les Stafford called them quality wins.
Both the men and women are off until March 20th when they play at Concordia Unversity in Nebraska.
