Most of the Evergy customers affected by power outages in Emporia on Sunday have been restored.
Close to 500 Evergy customers were impacted by a pair of outages that developed shortly before noon. Evergy’s outage map indicates the largest outage developed just north of Emporia and knocked out power to better than 400 customers in an area just west of Emporia State University. Less than 30 customers remain offline.
Nearly 80 more customers along Frontier Way between 12th and 15th were involved in another outage. That outage has been resolved.
The causes of both outages are currently under investigation.

Close to 500 Evergy customers in north-central and west Emporia are without power.
Power went offline around 11:45 am for two areas of town, one one involving an area north of 15th and Merchant and the other involving Frontier Way between 12th and 15th. Causes will be announced later. Estimated power restoral times have not been announced.
