The first-ever virtual Emporia Friends of the Zoo auction brought in an impressive total to support the David Traylor Zoo Friday night.
Zoo Director Lisa Keith was pleased with the outcome as with just 11 items on the auction block the event managed to bring in over $4,000. Alongside Zoo employees and EFOZ members, there were some special guests in attendance for the night’s event.
All funds generated from the night will go to support activities and programming put on by the Zoo throughout the year.
The virtual auction took the place of the annual EFOZ roundup auction which had to be put off due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. At this time, EFOZ is still planning to hold an in-person auction later this year, however, the exact details will be dependent on the COVID-19 pandemic and local metrics.
