A three-run home run by Noah Geekie in the bottom of the 9th lifted the Emporia State baseball team to a 19-18 win over Wayne State Wednesday.
Wayne State scored 7 runs in the 5th inning to take an 11-7 lead and added 5 more runs in the 6th inning and 2 runs in the 7th to take an 18-7 lead. Emporia State began the rally with a 6 run bottom of the 7th. Then scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 9th for the walk-off win.
Cooper Minnick and Chanler Bloomer also hit home runs for the Hornets.
The Emporia State baseball team, now 3-5, begins a 3 game series at Northwest Missouri State on Saturday.
