Part of Emporia’s West Ninth Avenue is now closed for much of March as a water main replacement project continues.
City Clerk Kerry Sull says Ninth is closed from Elm to Arundel through at least March 17, weather permitting. Access to the east side of Ninth and Elm will be allowed, but the west side of the intersection will be shut down during this phase of the project.
Improvements began in December along Elm from West Sixth to Newman Regional Health. The project has also included Ninth from Elm to Lawrence.
