Seniors 65 and older who have yet to get their name on the COVID-19 vaccination waiting list are being encouraged to do so before Friday.
Public Health announced Wednesday they will officially stop adding names to the waiting list by the end of business on Friday. Those residents 65 and older who attempt to sign up after will not be added to the waitlist, however, they will be placed on the vaccination notification list and will receive updates regarding upcoming clinics and availability according to a news release from Public Health.
Lyon County Public Health Emergency Preparedness Director Jennifer Millbern hinted at this during her weekly visit on KVOE’s Morning Show last week. She said most of the county’s seniors wanting vaccines had either received them or had been scheduled for the process, and Public Health had already made the decision not to continue the wait list once seniors had their turn.
