Around 1,000 Evergy customers were powerless for a little over an hour Sunday afternoon.
The outage developed due to an undisclosed equipment failure on a line north of Strong City around 2:20 pm. Crews managed to switch over to a separate line and had power restored shortly after 3:50 pm.
The exact cause of the failure is unknown at this time. Repairs on the line are expected to take place Monday.
