Emporia States softball team opened their season with a come-from-behind 14-13 walk-off win over Wayne State Friday.
The Lady Hornets were trailing 13-6 going to the bottom of the 6th when they scored 3 runs. In the bottom of the 7th, they scored 5 unearned runs to walk-off with the win.
They also shutout Rockhurst 5-0. Pitcher Kelsey Phillips tossed a 4 hit shutout with 4 strikeouts and 1 walk. Cassidy Beem drove in 2 runs with a home run.
Saturday they play Missouri St. Louis and the University of Mary.
