The Emporia Tyson Foods plant is among 30 plus national plants being recognized for its work to make a positive environmental impact.
The Emporia plant is one of 35 to receive the North American Meat Institute’s Environmental Recognition Award. The awards recognize a company’s “dedication to continuous environmental improvement” through the development and implementation of Environmental Management Systems.
Senior Director of Tyson EHS Operations Kim Dirks says “It’s a testament to our commitment at Tyson to implement solutions that help to enhance our environmental stewardship while working to put food on America’s tables.”
The awards are categorized by four tiers with Tier I recognizing compliance policies and Tier 4 representing the highest level of environmental management. Emporia was recognized under Tier I Case Ready-Value Added Plants alongside plants in Council Bluffs, IA, Goodlettsville, TN, Sherman, TX and Jacksonville, FL.
