Most area counties saw slight increases in new coronavirus cases over the past week.
Greenwood County released its first data set since the start of February on Friday.
Two new cases were reported bringing the county’s overall total to 581. Active cases dropped significantly from 17 on Feb. 1 to four Friday.
One person is currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.
* Osage County became the second area county to pass 1,000 coronavirus cases after announcing its latest data set Wednesday.
Twenty-six new cases between Feb. 5 and Wednesday pushed the county’s overall total to 1,014 since March. Osage County also had its active caseload dip from 48 to 28 over that time and deaths remain steady at 11.
Chase and Morris counties both reported case numbers Tuesday.
* Chase County reported four new cases bringing the overall total to 170. Active cases increased from 1 to 4.
Deaths remained at two.
* Morris County announced 8 new cases Tuesday increasing the overall total from 573 to 581. Active cases dipped from 20 to 8 between reporting periods.
Deaths remained steady at 17.
Due to technical issues Lyon County had no data set report Friday and is scheduled to release its next COVID report Monday. As of Monday, Lyon County’s overall total is at 4,003 cases since last March with 100 active cases and 75 deaths.
