Stop us if you’ve heard this before over the last week: light snow is causing slower-than-normal travel patterns Wednesday morning.
A dusting of snowfall has covered Emporia, with totals of up to three inches possible south and east of town. Streets of all categories are covered and at least occasionally slick at this time.
How the snow responds to improving weather conditions remains to be seen. Temperatures may approach the magic number of 20 degrees to start melting on streets, but there won’t be the sunshine that also helps that process along.
Light snowfall could wrap up by lunchtime. We’ve also had light snowfall Sunday and Monday. Driving conditions improved on major arterials and some residential collector streets Tuesday before our current round of snowfall.
