12:30 pm Tuesday: Coffey, Greenwood counties in separate winter weather advisories starting Tuesday evening
Extreme cold conditions may be moderating — finally — but wintry weather isn’t done with us just yet this week.
The National Weather Service has issued winter weather advisories for areas south and east of Emporia. Greenwood County is in an advisory from 6 pm Tuesday to 9 am Wednesday. Coffey County is in a separate advisory from 9 pm to 9 am.
Up to two inches of snow are possible across Coffey County, with up to three inches possible across Greenwood County.
Lyon County and other area counties could see a dusting to an inch of snowfall with this upcoming winter storm. Visibility issues should not be widespread with light winds expected, but the snow could be enough to slow down travel yet again across the KVOE listening area.
