911 phone lines are back up for the time being after going down earlier Tuesday morning.
According to Lyon County Emergency Communications Center Director Roxanne Van Gundy the lines went down around 9:30 am Tuesday morning.
Van Gundy says the cause of the outage is likely due to a power outage that affected the center earlier in the morning. Van Gundy says phone lines are back up and running as of 10:30 am, however, complications could persist throughout the day.
If you need emergency assistance Van Gundy says residents need to still call 911 and not hang up if your call is not immediately answered.
Van Gundy also asks that residents avoid calling the non-emergency line if at all possible.
