6 Emporia High wrestlers have advanced to sub-state after finishing in the top 4 at Fridays Andover regional tournament.
Xerarch Tungjaroenkul finished in 1st place at 145, Ethan Garate at 170, and Bobby Trujillo at 182 finished in 2nd place.
Pierce Moore at 113, David Tucker at 126, and Carter Garza at 195 finished in 4th place.
The Sub-state tournament will be held next Saturday at Goddard with the top 4 finishers advancing to State.
The Emporia High girls will host a regional tournament Saturday.
There are 2 ranked teams in the regional number 1 ranked Washburn Rural and number 5 ranked Emporia High. There are 23 ranked wrestlers. Emporia Highs Megan Olson is one of the ranked wrestlers.
Matches begin at noon.
The top 4 wrestlers in each weight class will advance to sub-state.
