The school day has resumed as normal at Emporia High School following an earlier lockdown.
The district confirmed the school went into a level two lockdown following a yet unknown “student disturbance in the hallways” shortly before 2:30 pm. All students remained in classrooms with the doors locked as authorities responded to the scene to resolve the situation.

2:30 pm Friday: Emporia High on lockdown following undisclosed student issue in hallways
Emporia High School has gone into a level two lockdown Friday afternoon.
The district confirmed the lockdown shortly before 2:30 pm and says the school will remain so until further notice. The district is still planning for a normal release time.
According to a news release from the district, the lockdown was initiated due to a “student issue in the hallways.” All classroom doors are closed and locked with students remaining in rooms and authorities are on scene.
