The Emporia State women held on for a 92-86 win over Lincoln and earned a spot in the MIAA Tournament.
The Lady Hornets trailed early in the game, 12-5, before going on an 11-0 run to take a lead they did not give up.
Emporia State held a 21-18 lead after the 1st quarter. They led 46-35 at halftime. In the 3rd quarter, they would lead by as many as 16. Lincoln would make a run in the 4th quarter cutting the lead to 4.
Emporia State Coach Toby Wynn said they were fortunate to win the game.
Tre’Zure Jobe tied her season-high with 29 points. Karsen Schultz added 19 points. Fredricka Sheats had her 3rd straight double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds.
The Lady Hornets with the win improve to 13-4. They will play at Lincoln on Saturday.
