USD 252 Southern Lyon County has adjusted its approach to combating COVID-19 following the USD 252 Board of Education’s recent meeting Wednesday.
During that time the board approved adjusting the district’s COVID-19 quarantine timeline to line up with action taken at the county level. With the board’s approval, positive COVID patients who are Asymptomatic will now only have to quarantine for 10 days rather than the previous 14.
Symptomatic patients will still need to quarantine for 14 days. Superintendent Mike Argabright believes the adjustment to the protocol will be uplifting for district staff, students and families.
Additionally, the board approved widening the definition of family members who are able to attend sporting events and other extracurricular activities. Argabright explains the move does not increase the number of individuals who can attend these events at one time, but rather widens the scope of which household members will be permitted to attend events.
In other business Wednesday the board also continued discussions on the district’s five-year strategic plan.
The USD 252 Board of Education will reconvene for its monthly meeting in March.
