Flint Hills Community Health Center is still taking names for the coronavirus vaccination waitlist, but last week’s initial vaccine pod put a bit of a dent in the current number.
Lyon County Public Health Incident Commander and Health Center CEO Renee Hively says the list is still lengthy.
The next closed vaccination pod for Phase 2 seniors is Friday at the Bowyer Community Building with 600 doses available. Vaccine numbers for a closed Phase 2 pod next week may be known by Wednesday, with the clinic tentatively set for Feb. 18.
Meanwhile, closed pods begin Saturday for secondary doses among the county’s Phase 1 residents, with other clinics scheduled Feb. 19 and Feb. 26.
Residents can call the COVID-19 Hotline at 620-208-3741 or go online to www.publichealth.lyoncounty.org to get on the list. Hively says residents are automatically on the waitlist once they give their information, so people should not call multiple times. Seniors are still the main target group.
The next COVID-19 Vaccination Briefing will be at 8:20 am next Monday on KVOE and KVOE.com. Meanwhile, Lyon County Public Health Emergency Preparedness Director Jennifer Millbern will have an overall COVID-19 response update on KVOE’s Newsmaker segment at 7:15 am Thursday.
