An Emporia woman suffered suspected serious injuries after she was hit by a car just east of Ottawa shortly before 6 pm Saturday.
Crystal Redick, 41, was standing outside her car, which was parked on the side of Interstate 35. A northbound car driven by 19-year-old Cory Mickey of Overland Park lost control due to ice, slid off and hit Redick, who was taken to Overland Park Regional for treatment.
Mickey went to Advent Hospital Ottawa for treatment of suspected minor injuries. A child in Redick’s car, Diego Galdamez, was not hurt.
