Snow totals may not be impressive, but wintry weather is coming our way Saturday.
A winter weather advisory now covers Lyon, Coffey, Morris, Osage and Wabaunsee counties from 6 am to 4 pm, reflecting the chance of 1-3 inches of snow. Chase County is in a separate advisory between 3 am and 2 pm for the possibility of up to two inches of snow. Totals will be higher the further north you go.
Slippery conditions are possible. So is low visibility with northerly winds gusting as high as 30 mph.
Conditions Saturday will already be significantly cooler than the low 50s we are enjoying Friday. Air temperatures will be in the upper 20s with wind chills in the teens for most of the day. Sunday’s high will be 25. Snow and freezing rain are possible Monday morning with highs in the low 20s.
