Preparations for Sunday’s Super Bowl are not just limited to the two teams that will be hitting the field, but local residents as well.
As Chief’s fans gear up for Sunday’s clash between the Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Lyon County Public Health is asking fans to factor one more thing into their party preparations, mitigation. During her weekly COVID-19 update on KVOE’s Morning Show Thursday, Public Health Emergency Preparedness Director Jennifer Millbern reminded listeners that the COVID-19 pandemic is a factor that needs to be taken into account as residents gear up for game day.
Millbern says the recommendation from Public Health is that fans not take in the show with anyone outside of their immediate family.
Millbern says we are currently at a pivotal time in the fight against coronavirus where the situation could still go “one way or the other.” She says residents need to understand that the decisions they make this weekend will matter in their community.
In place of a large scale SuperBowl party, Millbern suggests holding smaller appetizer gatherings with those individuals in your “immediate circle” and household members.
