The state’s two US Senators and Lyon County’s representative in the US House have announced their committee assignments for the 117th Congress now underway.
Senior Senator Jerry Moran will serve on six committees: Appropriations; Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs; Commerce, Science and Transportation; Health, Education, Labor and Pensions: Indian Affairs; and Veteran’s Affairs. Moran will be the ranking Republican on the Veterans’ Affairs Committee.
Junior Senator Roger Marshall is serving on four committees: Agriculture; Health, Education, Labor and Pensions alongside Senator Moran; Small Business and Entrepreneurship; and Energy and Natural Resources.
Freshman Congressman Tracey Mann has announced he will replace Marshall as a member of the House Agriculture Committee. He will also serve on the Veterans Affairs Committee. He will join KVOE’s Newsmaker segment at 7:15 am Monday.
