Emporia Fire Fighters were called to extinguish a vehicle fire that developed in southeast Emporia Monday afternoon.
Crews responded to a residence at 207 South Exchange Street where, according to Batallion Chief Ryan Conley, they found a late 90s Mercury Cougar fully engulfed in flames. According to Conley, the vehicle was parked in a driveway located in the back of the house and crews extinguished the flames before they spread to other structures.
No injuries or damage to other property were reported, however, the vehicle is considered a total loss.
The cause and origination point of the fire are currently under investigation.
