Two women escaped serious injury following an accident in Chase County Saturday morning.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, a southbound 2015 Honda Civic driven by 56-year-old Shari Sova of Overland Park was traveling on the Kansas Turnpike at mile marker 109 when the vehicle hydroplaned. The Honda then struck a barrier wall and entered a ditch.
KHP reports Sova suffered possible injuries and was complaining of pain following the accident as was a passenger identified as 23-year-old Mikayla Sova of Fayetteville, AR. Neither woman was listed as going to a hospital following the crash.
Both women were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
