The Emporia State basketball teams rolled to wins over Newman Saturday.
The Lady Hornets defeated Newman 85-65 behind 28 points from Ehlaina Hartman. She made 8 three-point shots, just 1 shy of the school record.
Fredricka Sheats finished with a double-double of 20 points and 13 rebounds.
Tre’Zure Jobe and Karsen Schultz both scored 15 points.
Lady Hornet Coach Toby Wynn hopes they can keep playing the way they did Saturday.
The Emporia State women improve to 9-3 for the season. They play at Missouri Western on Tuesday.
The Emporia State men had 4 players score in double figures and all 12 players scored in an 89-59 rout of Newman.
Hornet Coach Craig Doty said they played well for most of the game.
Jumah’Ri Turner led the offense with 18 points. Mayuom Buom added 17 points.
Austin Downing scored 11 points and Ben Smith finished with 10 points.
The Emporia State men are now 8-7 for the season. They are scheduled to host Northeastern State on Thursday.
