Emporia City Commissioners have a jam-packed agenda for their upcoming study session Wednesday morning.
Commissioners will review the city’s Water Treatment Plan risk and resilience plan as well as the emergency response plan. The commission will also discuss the possibility of a second state revolving fund drinking water loan.
The first loan gave the city approximately $10 million to fund a number of projects within the city and the city is seeking an additional $11 million through the second application.
Commissioners will also begin discussions with city staff regarding the future of several vacant or soon to be vacant buildings that surround White Auditorium. Discussions will also cover topics such as an agreement for local workforce development area V’s chief elected official board, an update to city code regarding the hosting of minors consuming alcohol, a memorandum of understanding with the Emporia Country Club for the construction of a new pickleball court and the 2021 Street Rehabilitation project.
The meeting will begin at 10 am inside the Municipal Courtroom at White Auditorium.
