The Emporia High girls were outscored by Washburn Rural 58-35 Friday night.
After a close 1st quarter, trailing 13-11, the Lady Spartans were outscored by Rural 18-7 in the 2nd quarter and never did catch up.
Gracie Gilpin led Emporia High in scoring with 21 points.
The Lady Spartans will open play in the Glaciers Edge tournament Thursday against Goddard Eisenhower.
