The Emporia High boys basketball team opened play in the Ralph Miller Classic with a 61-39 win over Carthage, Missouri Thursday.
The Spartans built a 22 point halftime lead and never looked back.
Coach Beau Welch said it was a good win.
Charles Snyder led the way with 21 points and 14 rebounds. Jacob Ortega and Chance Gilpin finished with 10 points.
The Spartans are now 5-3 for the season and will play Shawnee Mission South Friday afternoon at 4:45p.
