One of three defendants in the Kari’s Diamonds and Bridal burglary from May 2019 will spend 18 months in prison.
Aaron Coxwell was sentenced Tuesday in Lyon County District Court. Coxwell also received six months for conspiracy, but that will be served concurrently with the burglary case.
Coxwell’s presumptive presence was probation, but Judge Jeff Larson decided on prison instead, saying Coxwell was not a good candidate in light of him failing to appear at his original sentencing hearing last year.
Coxwell’s co-defendants, Nicholas Hall and Lesli Fontenot, were sentenced a year ago. Hall received 31 months in prison, while Lesli Fontenot got 14 months for their involvement in the burglary at Kari’s and a separate burglary at TP Jewelry and Pawn.
Restitution will be “joint and several,” meaning the responsibility is shared by the defendants. The amount is almost $50,000.
