Increases in crude oil prices have helped to push up local gas prices.
Across Emporia, prices have jumped between 15 and 20 cents over the past week and now stand between $2.09 and $2.19 a gallon. The $2.19 rate is also being seen in Burlington, Cottonwood Falls, Lebo, New Strawn and Osage City.
Outside of Emporia, the low price is $2.09 in Lyndon.
Crude oil has gone up past $50 a barrel and briefly approached one-year highs this week. Reduced inventories in the United States and increased refinery use are also listed as contributing factors.
